About Searchbreed

Searchbreed helps dog owners make the specific decisions that come up in a dog's life: what to feed a particular breed, which symptoms actually warrant a vet visit, and whether a piece of gear fits a dog's size and coat. It answers the question you would otherwise piece together across three browser tabs and a forum thread.

Who runs it

Searchbreed is published by Spur7 LLC, an independent company that builds reference sites. We are not owned by a pet-food brand, a retailer, or a veterinary chain, which is the point: no one upstream has a stake in which product you end up choosing. You can reach the team at hello@searchbreed.com.

How the guides are made

Every breed profile, comparison, and cost estimate is written for this site, not reposted from somewhere else. Physical figures like height, weight, and life expectancy are checked against published breed standards rather than repeated from memory, and we correct them when a source turns out to be wrong. The site currently covers 92 breeds, with symptom and cost guides alongside them, and it grows as we add more.

How it stays free

Searchbreed makes money through affiliate links: when you buy a product or sign up for a service we point you to, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. That is the business model. There are no display ads on the page and no charge to read anything. What we recommend is based on fit for your dog, not on which partner pays the most; the full breakdown is in our affiliate disclosure.

What Searchbreed is not

We are not a veterinary practice, and nothing here is a diagnosis or a treatment plan. The symptom and triage tools exist to help you narrow down whether something needs a vet, not to replace one. For anything urgent, or any real medical decision, see a licensed veterinarian in person.
