Privacy Policy

Searchbreed is a breed-aware guide to dog food, health, gear, and care. We collect as little personal information as we can while still running the site. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Email addresses you give us. If you sign up for updates or join a waitlist, we store your email address, the page and context you signed up from (for example a breed or health concern you selected), and the exact consent text you agreed to.

Quiz and concierge inputs. Answers you give in the itch-triage quiz and questions you ask the concierge are processed to generate a response, and triage inputs may be stored so we can improve the guidance. They are educational routing tools, not medical records — please don't include personal details beyond what the questions ask.

Usage and click data. We log standard technical events — pages visited, outbound partner link clicks, browser type, and referring page. IP addresses are not stored in our database in raw form; when we keep a record for abuse prevention, it is a one-way hash. Site analytics (Vercel Analytics, Google Analytics) are collected in aggregate; Google Analytics sets first-party analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.

How we use it

To send you the updates you asked for, to answer the questions you submit, to understand which guides and partners are useful so we can improve the site, and to keep the site secure. We do not sell your personal information.

Who else is involved

AI processing. Concierge questions and quiz answers are processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses.

Hosting and analytics. The site runs on Vercel, which processes requests (including IP addresses) to serve pages, and provides our aggregate, cookieless analytics.

Affiliate partners. When you click a partner link (typically via /out/[partner]), you leave our site and the partner receives standard referral parameters so they can attribute the visit. Partners — including Amazon, where Searchbreed participates in the Amazon Associates program — operate under their own privacy policies and may use cookies on their own sites. Your choices

Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also ask us to delete your email address or other personal information at any time — write to hello@searchbreed.com and we'll take care of it.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes to how we handle email addresses will be announced to subscribers.
